Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 certified by FCC, August 9 launch tipped alongside Galaxy Note 9

first_imgSamsung has announced that it will be holding its next Unpacked event on August 9, 2018. While the event will most likely see the launch of the Galaxy Note 9, Samsung could announce a few other products as well. One such product could be the Galaxy Tab S4, Samsung’s next flagship tablet that has been in the news for a while now. After being spotted on Geekbench last month, the tablet has now been certified by the FCC, suggesting an imminent launch.Notably, the FCC certification come just a few days after the Galaxy Note 9 was certified so there is a very good chance we might see both the products on August 9. The FCC listing has the model number SM-T835 and some documents reveal that the tablet supports LTE. The listing further reveals support for LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 17, 66, and 41. The Galaxy Tab S4 will measure 249.3×164.3mm and will support Bluetooth 5.0, single rear camera and audio tuned by AKG.The FCC certification reveals only this much as of now, but a Geekbench benchmark listing last month told us more. While details around its design are still slim, it is expected that the tablet will bring a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED (1600X2560) display. The benchmark further revealed that the Galaxy Tab S4 will be powered by last year’s flagship Snapdragon 835 chipset along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. As for the cameras, the tablet will likely bear a 12-megapixel sensor on the back and a 7-megapixel sensor up front. This suggests the front camera is getting a bit of an upgrade over the Galaxy Tab S3. Like its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S4 is also going to support LTE and a 6000mAh battery. It is expected to run Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box and will likely sport a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button.advertisementSeparately, the highlight of the Unpacked event on August 9 will be the launch of the Galaxy Note 9. The flagship is widely expected to follow a similar design language as the Galaxy Note 8 and will mainly come with upgraded internals. We also expect a dual camera setup similar to the Galaxy S9+ with a Dual Aperture feature.Samsung could launch a third product as well, namely the Gear S4 smartwatch. The wearable was also certified by the ECC (Eurasian Economic Commission) recently, suggesting it could launch alongside the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy Tab S4 on August 9.ALSO READ: Samsung Galaxy Note 9 set to launch on August 9last_img
