Bharat director Ali Abbas Zafar: Took 2.5 hours every day to make Salman Khan 70 years old

The actor, who is essaying the journey of a young boy till the age of 70, has gone through an extensive process of prosthetic make-up.In an interview to DNA, director Ali Abbas Zafar revealed that the make-up artists took two-and-a-half hours to make Salman Khan look old.”The prosthetics were designed by a UK-based company and executed with Indian make-up artists. SK (Salman) sir also tried over 20 different kinds of beards and mustaches for this look. It’s a very tedious process, but he would be patient. It would take him two-and-a-half hours to get ready,” said Ali.Talking about the superstar who is sporting five different looks in Bharat, the director said, “After the narration, he understood that not only did the script demand it, but this look is also very significant in keeping with his character graph. He was very supportive about the idea and the entire process.”advertisementSalman Khan earlier said that he has worked 10 times harder for Bharat than any other film.Citing the example of his 2016 film Sultan, in which he essayed the role of a wrestler, the actor said, “The amount of work that went into Bharat is 10 times more than what I put in any other film. Because you need to lose weight to look a certain way and then you need to put on that weight.””And all this always has to be done in a short span of time.
