Belstaff Collaborates with Sophnet for Limited Capsule Collection

first_imgSince 1924, Belstaff has been the British standard of adventure wear, creating collections ideal for driving just about anything with a motor or taking on the everyday 10,000-ft. ascent. For its newest release, the outfitter has taken a decidedly more urban approach, collaborating with Japanese streetwear brand Sophnet for a capsule collection of shoes and outerwear.Founder Hirofumi Kyonga took a variety of classic Belstaff styles and added a camouflage flair, while retaining the British character of these standards.“I came across Belstaff decades ago, when my curiosity for fashion first began,” Kyonga said through a press release. “It’s a brand which people have worn and admired for many years and I respect their designs, longevity and authenticity.”It starts with a take on Belstaff’s Roadmaster jacket – a mid-weight piece offered in water-repellent nylon for the first time. It has signature Sophnet detailing throughout, while retaining the same four-pocket silhouette. They also brought back the Rebel jacket, which features an asymmetrical zipper, camo elbow pads and definition that keeps the café racer-style distinct. The Westbury Parka is inspired by another Belstaff piece first created in the 1970s for the British Royal Army. The original padded hood has been kept, but the Sophnet updates is again reflected through water-repellent nylon to create a more city-focused piece.Lastly, Belstaff’s white, modern sneaker is given a camo heel in a decidedly street-style upgrade.
