Painkiller robber strikes pharmacy on 162nd

first_imgIn the latest of a long-continuing string of pharmacy robberies for painkiller drugs, a man held up the Rite Aid in the 2800 block of Northeast 162nd Avenue on Wednesday evening and escaped with OxyContin.The man walked into the pharmacy about 6:25 p.m. Wednesday and handed a note demanding the drug to a pharmacist. The note gave the impression he had a weapon, but none was seen.He then ran out an emergency door and escaped despite the efforts of police and a tracking dog, according to a bulletin from the Vancouver Police Department.The robber was described as white and in his mid-20s. He wore a dark hat and sunglasses, a black long-sleeved sweatshirt and camouflage pants.Pharmacy holdups for opiate painkillers have become common in the last couple of years in Clark County.
