Come Saturday though, the matchups really start to heat up.Alabama hosts Texas A&M in the SEC West, and there are big showdowns in the Pac-12 and Big-12. It should be a fun weekend.ESPN’s panel of experts made picks for Alabama-Texas A&M, Stanford-Oregon, TCU-Texas and FAU-UCF. Sampanthan speaks to IGP on Jaffna situ

Tamil National Alliance (TNA) leader R. Sampanthan had a discussion today with IGP N.K Illangakoon on the situation in Jaffna involving the Jaffna university students.The Uthayan newspaper reported that Sampanthan had telephoned the IGP to discuss the situation which had arisen following the arrest of some students. The IGP has also said that the parents of the students have access to them in prison. The IGP had informed Sampanthan that four students had been arrested by the police Criminal Investigations Division and have been detained at the Vavuniya prison. A tense situation had developed in Jaffna last week after some students had attempted to commemorate the LTTE “heroes day” anniversary. read more
